We all know that insanely charged moment when the MMC rushes in, catches a glance of her, and growls (while we’re all holding our every breath): “Who did this to you”? We don’t know what they put in that line—and every single variation of it—but it’s the stuff of our swooniest sighs. Clearly we’re straight up suckers for this moment, so s’no wonder we chose it as our theme for these scorching-hot-summer July book picks.

The fantasy romance book boasts a gripping slow burn to absolutely searing enemies-to-lovers romance. This shadow daddy and “new rebel recruit” are at each other's throats in the training ring (yes he begrudgingly trains her!), at each other's throats in the hot springs (yes he begrudgingly makes her get in the water!), then at each other's throats… well you get where this is going, and to be so-f-ing-for-real, we’re not quite sure what the author put in this but we seriously we ate this book up in one.single.slice. The pièce de résistance? He calls her “little traitor”.

The contemporary romance book has small-town sparks flying between this city-girl-returned-home and the world’s hottest billionaire (seriously! Forbes said it!) who just so happens to be her brother’s best friend. Off-limits leads to off-the-charts tension.. and he can hardly stand it, especially as he’s navigating his new single-daddy status. Toss in the turmoil of these two trying to work together in all that glorious forced proximity, and the email banter is not the only thing that happens on his desk.

Again, who? Oh you’re definitely gonna find out!
